How to change proxy settings in Ubuntu / how to update ubuntu with proxy ?

when you want update your ubuntu operating system (OR) Internet usage in ubuntu with proxy/ proxy server, you need to install ntlmaps software in ubuntu

follow the these steps:

Open terminal and write command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure ntlmaps

enter ur system password fellow the follow the below steps
enter your institute server proxy port value
Enter parent proxy / institute proxy
enter your institute proxy port value

enter your institute domain name:


Enter your internet login name:/ institute login for internet usage
Enter your internet password

your proxy settings through NTLMAPS has been changed
